Teaching children from before they can walk that people are 'inherently good' is not only dangerous, but it also contradicts Biblical truth (Jer. 17:9, Romans 8, etc). I don't like writing stories about parents inflicting atrocities against their own children, but if we continue as a society to refuse to acknowledge that these things happen and that they are not nearly as uncommon as we would like to think, then we'll never move to the next step of recognizing the reality of ritual abuse, and doing something about it.
