Fresno, California: 42-year-old Nathan Larson was arrested in December 2020 when he was found at the Denver International Airport with a 12-year-old girl that he was transporting back to his home in Virginia.
According to information recently released by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California, Larson died in custody on September 18, 2022.
"Nathan Larson died on 9/18/22. An Order of dismissal in his case was filed on 10/11/22."
His last appearance in court was back in March when he petitioned to be able to represent himself in federal court where he was facing charges that could have resulted to a life sentence of convicted.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's report is still pending as is the determination of his cause and manner of death.
According to information obtained by the Fresno Bee Larson had recently been transferred from a federal facility in the Eastern District of California to a facility in Arizona where he died.
The Bee indicated that he was transferred due to medical needs that were able to be met at that facility.
In February 2021 we reported that the case against Larson appeared to be growing as investigators indicated that they were speaking with possible victims in at least a dozen states and four countries.
At this time, no information concerning if additional charges were ever filed as a result of those conversations has been released.
