Letter from the editor

There’s been an undeniable up-tick in traffic to Real Dark News recently, and especially on January 6, 2021. We know that you’re looking for answers. So are we.

I am sure there are some of you that are frustrated with our perceived silence concerning the current state of America. I can’t tell you the number of times I have sat down to begin writing something on the matter only to stare at a blank screen and blinking cursor for far too long.

No one will argue that we are experiencing a time where the reality of the statement that ‘we do not know what tomorrow holds’ has become undeniable.

So what are we to do when the world seems to have gone mad, tensions are so high that they could be sliced with an elementary school lunch spork, and suddenly the fear people were exhibiting from COVID seems like little more than a momentary startle from a scary movie?

Cling to what is True.

When the world seems to have flipped completely upside down, that’s because it did- in the garden. We’re just seeing it clearer now than we did even two weeks ago. We see this in Acts 17:6 where Christians are accused of being "These who have turned the world upside down."

Untimately, the person occupying the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue does not change our marching orders- those come from God alone.

Preach the gospel. Pray. Be a witness for Jesus to a broken and hurting world around you.

The first European settlers to land in what would become America did so “In the name of God, amen” and “for the Glory of God and the Advancement of the Christian Faith.”

While we may have forgotten that, God has not.  So we continue to pray.  Perhaps, in God's mercy, He will see fit to pull this nation back from the precipice it seems to be a mere hairbreadth from tumbling over.  But perhaps not.  Perhaps allowing this is what will ultimately lead not only to the salvation of more souls, but also to refining and strengthening of His church- all for His glory!

"If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up" (Daniel 3:17-18).

There are undeniably things that we can look at to find glimmers of hope that show us God is not done with this nation.

Over the last few years, advancements had been made in the fight against abortion. There was even talk of cities and states becoming “sanctuaries for the unborn.”  People are no longer dismissing out of hand the idea of corruption in the highest levels of government, up to and including the abuse and sacrifice of children.  And events over the last two months in particular have driven people back to their Bibles and to prayer in a way that none of the insanity that we saw throughout the course of 2020 ever did.

We have our marching orders, and an admonition to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them” (Ephesians 5:11) and that is exactly what we will continue to do at Real Dark News.
