I hear this scoffing question quite a bit. Sadly even from them claiming to be followers of Christ. Often they will point to Mark 16:17-18 and say we are in a different time now.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
To these people saying things are different now, asking where are the miracles, I ask you this:
Where is it that you place your faith? Where do you put your trust?
The modern Church in the West lives in a bizzaro world, where they seek God to be verfied by scientists, seek His miracles to come in a medical system that denies Him.
The modern Western believer is taught that spiritual issues are psychological issues, that physical symptoms of ailments need medical suppression with drugs, to fear invisible things and prevent them by injecting dead things into the body you believe to be the Temple of the Living God.
I have heard preachers in pulpits, in person and on t.v., pray to guide a doctor who places the diagnosis du jour on one of their flock. Who want to lay on hands to heal, after checking with the medical lab. Who pray for recovery only after guiding sheep in their care to be injected with chemicals and sliced up with scalpels.
As we see time and time again in scripture, when the believer of God tries to walk out their faith on their own terms, God’s hand is forced. We are beginning to see this now in society and the medical system.
With the current invisible fear being pushed upon society, the scientific and medical answer is to inject a voodoo serum of dead chicken and cow, human blood and baby parts, into your body…to ward off the malevolent invisible force.
Voices in society not representing our Father in heaven (though some would claim to do so) say it is your duty to get this shot. They are suggesting exclusion of those who will not submit to the will of men who know better. As their own evidence and video documentation mounts and builds as to the danger of allowing and partaking in such foolery, it becomes more clear to see our Father’s hand in this.
Just as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob used pharaoh and Egypt’s system to shift the faith and trust of His people from man and man’s system to Him, He again is showing believers where the believer needs to be focused.
On Him. On His Son. On His Salvation.
For it is only through the total and complete child-like faith and trust in Him that we will see miracles that “they shall do in my name.”
The believer’s choice is more and more clear daily: trust in man or trust in Him that created man.
