Inkster, Michigan: Two children, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy were found on the morning of January 1, 2022 with lacerations to their necks. At the time, the girl was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment, but the boy had to be revived with CPR before being airlifted to Children's Hospital Detroit for further treatment.
A knife officers believe was used in the attack was found in the bath tub.
According to reports, the girl has been treated and released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
The boy remains hospitalized.
Their mother, 36-year-old Sara Var Boles has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of first-degree child abuse, and one count of resisting and obstructing.
At her arraignment yesterday morning, her bond was set at $1 million cash by Judge Sabrina Johnson.
Boles is scheduled to be back in court on January 12 for a probable cause conference.
