The final of three arraignments took place on Friday, October 16 when 49-year-old Andre Miller appeared before a judge and was charged with two counts of rape, a first degree felony.
Previously, 50-year-old Mark Hammonds was arraigned on four counts of rape, and four counts of gross sexual imposition. A man believed to be his brother, 49-year-old Darrell Hammonds was additionally arraigned on five counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition.
The men face the possibility of life behind bars if convicted on all charges.
According to the county prosecutor's office, the crimes are said to date back as far as January 2010, and to have occurred as recently as February 2020. They are said to have taken place in Mark Hammonds’ Price Hill home.
All three victims are known to the accused through family relations.
One of the three victims spoke out to an adult, and that adult went to the Cincinnati Police initiating the investigation.
"I am at a loss for words to describe the horrors these children endured. The length of time of the abuse and the fact that three different defendants were involved is staggering to contemplate," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters said.
"I want to thank the Cincinnati Police Department for their excellent investigation and for getting these three defendants arrested so quickly today. My office will do whatever we can to help the victims through this difficult process. We will prosecute this case vigorously and seek maximum sentences for these defendants to get the victims the justice they deserve.”
