
On September 2, 2019, just before 1 am, police were called to a Baltimore residence for a call of cardiac arrest. Upon arrival they found a 1-month-old infant "suffering from multiple injuries to the upper body." The infant was transported to Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The cause of death was determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to be "multiple injuries due to on-going child abuse," and the manner of death was ruled as a homicide.
A statement from the Baltimore County Police stated that since that event, homicide detectives, the Baltimore County States Attorney's Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and continued to investigate the case.
16-year-old Sean Darian Jackson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on September 3.
Jackson is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail. According to court records, he has been assigned a public defender and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 30 at 10 am.
