Hacienda Heights, California: On Friday, April 22, 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones's mother and her mother's boyfriend changed their pleas to no contest and were sentenced on charges related to her death.
Trinity's body was found in a duffel bag near a Hacienda Heights equestrian trail by city workers that were clearing brush on March 5, 2019, four days after she had been dumped there.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later determined that she died from blunt force trauma and neglect.
31-year-old Taquesta Graham and 42-year-old Emiel Hunt had initially been charged with murder and torture two which they plead not guilty.
Graham changed her plea to one of no contest on Friday for a charge of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
