
Jackson, South Carolina: The Jackson Police Department responded to a residence on the 100 block of 3rd Street on Sunday, November 14, just after 5:00 pm for a well-being check and reportedly found a door slightly ajar and a foul odor emanating from within.
Inside the home WJBF reports that officers found a bloody shirt on the floor, several cabinets open, and the home looking as though it had been ransacked.
Officers also found burnt documents in the stove and kitchen sink.
Once they removed a recliner from in front of a side door of the residence officers located the remains of a male in the basement. He was reportedly found in state of decomposition with his hands and feet bound together.
An autopsy is being conducted in Newberry, South Carolina to establish identity and cause of death.
Once the next of kin are notified officers will release the victim's identity.
Aiken County Sheriff Captain Eric Abdullah said that no suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
