June 13th of this year, prosecutors state that law enforcement became aware that people were downloading five videos from David Vogt's computer depicting children possibly as young as two being sexually abused and tortured by adults.
Vogt, 20, was arrested on October 25th.
“According to Elgin police, a detective discovered the videos allegedly being downloaded from Vogt’s computer,” a press release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office said. “Each of the videos allegedly depicts a child, possibly as young as 2 years old, being subject to abuse, torture and sexual contact by an adult.”
Vogt is being held in the Kane County Adult Justice Center on $500,000 bail. To be released on bond, he must pay $50,000 and submit to the conditions established by Kane County Judge Keith Johnson which include surrendering his passport, no contact with anyone under 18 years of age, and forfeiture of the use of the internet.
Vogt is charged with five counts each of reproducing child pornography and of possessing child pornography. The charges for reproducing carry a maximum possible sentence of 30 years for each count.
He is scheduled to be back in court on November 1st.
