Smyrna, Delaware Police responded to a call to Little Lass Field, located at 1-381 Duck Creek Pkwy at 4:30 on Friday afternoon. Someone that was out walking their dog in the park discovered human remains.
The investigation is ongoing, so information is limited at this time, but they have disclosed that the remains are suspected to be of a child no older than ten years old. Smyrna Police are investigating in partnership with the Delaware Attorney General's Office, the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and members of the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
According to CBS, arson may also be a part of the investigation with the evidence that was found.
Saturday, tents and tarps could still be seen at the field to protect evidence as the investigation on scene continued.
