Oak Ridge, Texas: Law enforcement began investigating reports of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student at Oak Ridge High School on January 12, 2022.
After speaking with the victim, their family, and friends of the victim, the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office believed they had enough evidence to obtain a warrant.
On Tuesday, January 25, 36-year-old Bonnie Guess Mazock was arrested and charged with indecency with a child.
Mazock was hired by the Conroe Independent School District on August 3, 2021 and worked at the Oak Ridge High School as a science teacher.
Oak Ridge High School principal AJ LiVecchi sent a letter to parents and guardians concerning the arrest.
"Over the next few days, you will likely see and hear news reports regarding our school. I wanted you to hear directly from me accurate information about what has happened," the letter is quoted as beginning.
LiVecchi went on to say, "I want to assure you that Oak Ridge High School and Conroe ISD are committed to providing a safe learning environment for your children."
The letter additionally disclosed that Mazock has been placed on administrative leave.
