WBNS reports that 60-year-old Mike Davis, who worked for the station for over 30 years including time as their chief meteorologist, was sentenced by Judge Karen Phipps to four years in prison in May.
In January Davis pleaded guilty to three charges of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and one count of possession of sexually oriented matter involving a minor which carried a possible sentence of 25 to 29.5 years in prison.
He was arrested in September 2019 after a tip was received by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force concerning his online activity. At that time, he was found to be in possession of a "significant number of images," which was later determined to be nearly 16,000 images which had been obtained between October 2019 and September 2019.
WCMH indicates that Davis has been assigned to Grafton Correctional Institution which "provides a Comprehensive Sex Offender Program to assigned inmates "designed to reduce the risk to sexually and violently reoffend.”
Upon release from prison, Davis will be required to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
