Joliet, Illinois: A couple has been arrested for possession of child pornography following an investigation that began on December 16, 2021 when a cyber tip was provided to the Will County Sheriff's Office from the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
A search warrant was executed at the residence of 33-year-old Justin Russell and his wife, 27-year-old Lauren Russell which resulted in the seizure of several electronic devices for forensic examination.
The result of that examination uncovered images of child pornography.
A warrant was issued for their arrest, and both were charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.
The Russell's were both taken into custody yesterday, February 1, and had a court appearance scheduled for 9:00 am this morning according to jail records.
Their bonds were set at $5 million each.
No further information has been released at this time.
