Who Was That Masked Man(date)?

Just Kidding, Folks!

As many of you have already heard by now, many airlines have dropped their mandatory mask mandates which, up to this point, have been a requirement to fly. Airlines that have now dropped the mandate include: Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Frontier, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, United, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country, and Delta. Several other transportation companies soon followed suit including Uber, Lyft, Amtrak, TSA, and several U.S. airports.

I was especially amugusted (that’s a tangled, internal conflict somewhere between amused/disgusted) by Alaska Airlines when they encouraged customers to, “…show kindness to those who decide they still want to wear face coverings onboard planes.” To which I ask, where were all the politically correct demands for kindness the past two years for all the people who decided they didn’t want to wear face coverings?

Any of those schnazzy anti-masker caps left? Brett J. Hart needs one…

Is it just me, folks, or are you highly suspicious that all this aeronautical “generosity” is nothing more than a massive hit to their “bottom line”—a modern-day Boston Tea Party, where England underestimated the resolve of the American people? Were millions of jet-setting American among us more than willing and able to discontinue air travel in favor of something far more important to us (read: our own self-respect and integrity)? Feeling it in the pockets now, United, et al?

Personally—to mix metaphors—for me, mask mandate or not, that ship has sailed. I’m not too jazzed about strapping myself into a chair 30,000 feet into the clouds in a massive tin can piloted by a bunch of vaccinated guys who could drop dead of a coronary at any moment. And if you don’t want to listen to such baseless logic from a nobody like me, perhaps you’ll lend an ear to U.S. Army flight surgeon, Lt. Col. Theresa Long, who filed an affidavit stating the risk of Myocarditis (laymen’s terms: sudden cardiac arrest) associated with the Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna COVID shots.

And if a Lt. Col. in the Army doesn’t convince you, perhaps the CDC’s own statements given last May will give you pause.

“In May, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognized the risk of heart inflammation conditions like Myocarditis and Pericarditis associated with the two COVID vaccines. The CDC website continues to provide a warning about Myocarditis and Pericarditis as a potential side effect of COVID vaccines, particularly among male adolescents and young adults.”[1]

Imagine the additional complications and potential chain reaction ensuing should sudden cardiac arrest strike a pilot…while on duty. Do you want grandma on that flight coming to visit your newborn? Oh, the humanity!

Soaring gas prices and all, I prefer to drive from now on, thank you.
