Ashville, Ohio: Mandy Davis worked as a part time teacher's aide at Teays Valley West Middle school in Commercial Point, Ohio until she was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 19 on charges stemming from an "add relationship" with a 12-year-old student.
The investigation into 33-year-old Davis began after a employee provided a tip to the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Columbus Dispatch the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office and the South Bloomfield Police Department, working in conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation found sufficient evidence to arrest her and then executed a search warrant at her residence in order to secure additional evidence.
Following her arrest the Teays Valley School District issued a statement saying that Davis "has been notified that her services are no longer needed by the Board of Education."
Davis has been charged with one count each of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, rape, and gross sexual imposition as a result of an alleged two-week long "relationship" with the student.
The sexual assaults are said to have happened at her residence between April 26 and May 11.
Davis was arraigned in Pickaway County Municipal Court on Thursday where her bond was set at $250,000. She remains in custody in the Pickaway County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 27, 2021.
