Nowhere seems to be free from the scourge that is wreaking havoc in headlines lately, which people are starting to realize is more of a problem than anyone had dared think; adults sexually assaulting children.
Forks, Washington, a small town of less than 4,000 people situated on the upper peninsula has been buzzing since the arrest of 39-year-old para-educator with the Quillayute Valley School District Tammy Leask was announced on Thursday.
The Callum County Sheriff's Office received a tip concerning Leask on August 25th. According to the report, she had been involved "in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 13-year-old Forks Middle School Student." Officers began investigating and found enough probable cause to arrest Leask.
Thursday morning Leask was arrested at Forks High School without incident. She was interviewed by officers and was said to have admitted to engaging in "a sexual relationship with the juvenile from November 2019 to January 2020."
Leask is currently being held at the Clallam County Corrections facility in lieu of $150,000 bond. She is currently charged with child rape and distribution of a controlled substance for giving the minor Xanax and alcohol.
