Dallas, Texas: Officers responded to a call on Friday, November 26 at around 4:30 pm for a report of an abandoned child.
Officers learned that a two-year-old girl had been dropped off at the residence of her great-grandparents by an unknown individual, but that the girl was supposed to be with her grandmother.
They expressed concern for the wellbeing of the grandmother.
Officers went to a residence on Lynnacre Drive to preform a wellness check, and found 47-year-old Aime Salinas-Alvarado deceased from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Officers soon determined that Aime's 15-year-old son, whose name has not been released at this time, was their primary suspect.
He was located at a friend's house with Aime's car and was taken into custody without incident.
Once in custody he is said to have provided a full confession to a homicide detective. He has been booked into the Herry Wade Juvenile Detention Facility and will be charged with Capitol Murder.
The motive for the shooting has not been revealed.
