
Fairfield, Iowa: 66-year-old Nohema Graber was a mother, community leader, and Spanish teacher at Fairfield High School since 2012.
On Wednesday, November 3 her body was found at Chautauqua Park under a tarp, wheelbarrow, and railroad ties. Court documents made public on Thursday said that she had suffered "inflicted trauma to the head," according to the Ottumwa Courier.
Jeremy Everett Goodale and Willard Noble Chaiden Miller, both 16-years-old, have been arrested and charged with first degree homicide and conspiracy to commit first-degree homicide. They are being charged as adults due to "circumstances and their ages."
According to court documents law enforcement received a tip about communications on social media from Goodale that included details of planning the murder and a motive, through the motive was not disclosed in the documents.
The Des Moines Register, citing court documents, said that Miller allegedly admitted to being at the park where Graber's body was found at the time of the murder. He allegedly also assisted by providing materials used in the murder and assisted with concealing Graber's body.
Students at Fairfield High School were dismissed early on Thursday and classes were canceled for today, Friday, November 5. The campus though, remained open for students or staff wishing to obtain counseling.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mrs. Graber," Laurie Noll, Fairfield Superintendent said. "At this time our students' and staffs' well-being is our top priority. As a community, we will remain united in this time of tragedy."
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for both Goodale and Miller on November 12. Their bonds have been set at $1 million.
