October 7, 2019 an infant was brought to Saint Francis Hospital with severe diaper rash and facial bruising. At that time, a child abuse report was filed, but it was not until earlier this month, on the 17th, that the mother, 21-year-old Lea Robinson was arrested.
According to police, Department of Human Services workers noted that Robinson changed her story multiple times and that her version of events did not match with the injuries showing on the infant.
Eventually though, Robinson is said to have admitted to knowingly placing her daughter into a bath that was too hot, and biting and punching her in the face because she would not stop crying.
Robinson has remained in the Tulsa County Jail on a charge of child abuse by injury in lieu of $50,000 bond. She is due to appear in court today.
