UPDATE: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has issued a corrected statement regarding the 11-year-old child that was believed missing and the deceased boy that was found yesterday.
Last night LVMPD Homicide Lt. Ray Spencer spoke with a woman that believed the deceased child was her son. She signed an affidavit with the coroner's office stating as much.
She provided information to police stating that the last time he had been seen was at about 9:00 pm last night when he left with his father.
Even the mother of the believed half-brother, 11-year-old Eden Montes believed that the deceased was the half-brother of her son.
Officers have confirmed that the father and both boys, the unnamed 8-year-old and his 11-year-old half-brother Eden have been located. All are healthy and accounted for.
What this means is that officers are still working to establish an identity for the child that had been found yesterday.
Spencer stated that they are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to create a better sketch of victim they are seeking to identify.
Lt. Spencer promised further updates will follow.
