Middletown, Ohio: The Middletown Police Department issued a statement on Wednesday, September 21 announcing the arrest of two individuals for the roles they played in the murder and dismemberment of 55-year-old Jeffrey Fellman.
Officers said that 34-year-old John Havens entered the lobby of the police station on Tuesday around 7:30 pm and asked to speak with an officer. Havens then disclosed that her had information about a homicide and that he had been tasked with dismembering the body.
Havens stated that his girlfriend's mother, 59-year-old Marie Vaughn, had picked him up from his residence and during the drive to her home, she allegedly asked if he would help her dispose of a body.
Havens told officers that he had been led to Jeffrey's body in the garage and that he had then dismembered the body using a hand saw he found.
Officers then went to the residence in order to perform a well-being check.
As officers approached Vaughn attempted to flee the residence, but officers were able to use their vehicles to stop her and she was then taken into custody without further incident.
Jeffrey's remains were soon located within the residence and investigators disclosed that it appeared that he had been shot multiple times.
Vaughn has been charged with murder and Havens has been charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
The investigation is ongoing.
