An investigation was launched into the online activity of 20 year old Anchit Nayyar of Carol Stream.
No information has been released about where or when the tip came into law enforcement which initially sparked the investigation. As evidence mounted however, a search warrant was granted for Nayyar's residence and on Friday, January 3rd, it was executed.
During the search police seized computer equipment and smart phones.
Nayyar was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of grooming. He appeared in court for the first time on the 3rd, and is scheduled to be back in court on the 27th.
Despite the fact that his bond was set at $100,000 he is no longer listed as a current inmate with the DuPage Sheriff's Department.
Nayyar is accused of contacting at least three juvenile girls on SnapChat and soliciting nude selfies from them. The incidents are said to have happened on October 5th and November 6th.
