Pierre Part, Louisiana- Officers with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on June 4, 2021 for a report of a possible kidnapping.
During the investigation, officers learned that the child "is believed to have been the victim of felony sex crimes" according to a release published to the Sheriff's Office website.
During their investigation officers learned to that the child had been lured to the residence of 32-year-old Richard Paul Allemond Jr., with the promise of candy. "Once the child arrived at the suspect's residence, he allegedly committed multiple sex crimes upon the victim."
Allemond was located and detained under suspicion at that time, and investigators obtained and executed several search warrants.
Based on further information found, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Allemond and charged him with first degree rape, indecent behavior with a juvenile and sexual battery.
Allemond remains in custody at the Assumption Parish Detention Center in lieu of $500,000.
The case, in particular the kidnapping aspect, remains under investigation.
