On Thursday, December 19th, 39 year old Gabriel Vertiz of DeLand, Florida was arrested at a construction site where he was working in Hillsborough County according to a statement made by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
He is charged with false imprisonment of a child under 13 with lewd and lascivious assault; lewd/lascivious molestation; and false imprisonment of a child under 13.
According to information released by the Sheriff's Office, both of the children are known to Vertiz.
He is accused of restraining one of the girls with tape and touching her inappropriately on multiple occasions. In the second case, he is accused of restraining her with tape, but not of touching her.
He was initially taken to the Hillsborough County Jail where he was held without bond until the 23rd when he was transferred to Volusia County Jail. He remains held without bond and an additional hold for immigration has been placed on him.
His arraignment date is not known.
