Redwood City, California: Heriberto Rosaslugo remains confined in the Maguire Correctional Facility in lieu of $300,000 bail. He was arraigned on a charge of continuous sexual assault with three enhancements on September 15, 2021.
Court records show that he has entered a plea of not guilty to the charge against him, and denied the enhancements which include "sexual conduct with a victim under 14 years of age," serious felony, and prior conviction of a previous felony.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office jail records list an additional charge against him of lewd act upon a child.
The investigation into Rosaslugo began after his 13-year-old step daughter reportedly texted a friend stating that her step-father had sexually assaulted her the previous week. According to KPIX that friend immediately told her parents who then picked the victim up from her home and took her to the sheriff's office to report the assault.
During the course of the investigation officers learned that the sexual assaults had been happening since the girl was 7-years-old without her mother's knowledge.
Prosecutors stated that during a pretext phone call, Rosaslugo admitted to molesting the child.
Law enforcement made contact with Roaslugo at his home and took him into custody without incident.
45-year-old Rosaslugo is scheduled to be back in court at 9:00 am on September 28 for a preliminary hearing.
