Moore, Louisiana: Officers with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 26-year-old Blake James Bardwell on Sunday afternoon after his wife and 8-month-old child were found shot inside of their apartment.
According to KTVE emergency dispatchers received several calls from Bardwell asking for help and advising that a crime had occurred.
Another call was placed by one of Bardwell's friends, advising dispatchers that Bardwell had told them he had shot his wife and child.
Bardwell was located outside of the apartment and is said to have admitted to deputies that he had killed his wife and child.
Bardwell was initially booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on two counts of second-degree murder. Due to his employment at the facility as a correctional officer since 2019, he was later moved to another facility.
He has since been terminated.
