On May 26th, officers with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch interviewed and executed a search warrant on 27-year-old Tyler Joseph McKinney with regards to "a child sexual abuse material investigation."  At that time they located him within Cattletsburg, Kentucky.

During the execution of the search warrant, electronic equipment was seized and taken for forensic examination.

After that examination concluded, on July 14th, McKinney was indicted on ten charges.  Those charges include two counts of promoting a minor (U/16) in a sexual performance, one count of rape 2nd degree, one count of sodomy 2nd degree, one count of rape 3rd degree, one count of sodomy 3rd degree, one count of sexual abuse 1st degree, one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor, one count of possessing or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, and one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

According to the Kentucky State Police press release, it wasn't until August 13th that the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force located and arrested McKinney in Ironton, Ohio.  Records with the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center where he was held for a period of time though, show a booking date of August 6th.

McKinney is now being held at the Boyd County Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 cash bond.  His arraignment is scheduled for September 30 at 9:30 am.

An additional charge for 3rd degree burglary shows on his jail record.  According to a court search, the next review for that case is not scheduled to take place until March 17, 2022.
