Officers with the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office began investigating 47-year-old John Bogart on August 1st after they learned of possible ongoing sexual abuse of a juvenile female.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Bogart had in fact had inappropriate contact with two females.
On August 11, Bogart was arrested and charged with two counts of molestation of a juvenile and one count of first degree rape. He is being held at the Lt. Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace in lieu of $100,000 bond as set by Judge K. Vaughn.
The following day his wife, 42-year-old Tammy Bogart was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact on one count of child molestation. She was released from Lt. Sherman Walker Correctional Facility later that same day on $5,000 bond.
Due to the age of the victims and the nature of the crime, the Sheriff's Office has stated that they will not release any further information on this matter.
