On February 14th, a jury convicted 35-year-old Brandon Rogers of four counts of child molestation and one count of invasion of privacy.
Rogers was then sentenced by Henry County Superior Court Judge John A. “Trea” Pipkin to 60 years for his crimes. He will be required to serve the first 30 behind bars, the remaining 30 on probation, and upon release register as a sex offender for the remainder of his days.
During the case, the jury heard that Rogers had molested a 9-year-old family member and then, when the girl was 15, that he set up a camera in her bathroom to record her getting into the shower.
The girl testified during the trial describing Rogers as the “monster in the bed.”
According to additional testimony by a local pastor, Rogers had previously served as a youth minister at The Chapel in Jonesboro.
