Orlando, Florida: Officers announced the arrest of a former professional golfer yesterday after he had attempted to meet what he believed was a 15-year-old girl. He was taken into custody without incident.
26-year-old Daniel Bowling began speaking with an undercover officer who was posing as a 15-year-old on AdChat in early April. Law enforcement stated that Bowling's conversations "turned sexual in nature within the first 24 hours and intensified quickly."
"Unfortunately," Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce member Jennifer Wing said, "there are potentially hundreds of predators like Mr. Bowling online. I hope news of today's arrest encourages parents to be more proactive in monitoring the children's lives online."
Bowling faces a dozen charges including obscene communication, traveling to meet with a minor, attempted lewd and lascivious molestation, solicitation of a minor and possession of marihuana. He is currently being held in the Orange County Jail.
