Titus J. Miller, then 26, was arrested on October 22nd of last year on charges that he sexually assaulted children and recorded and photographed the abuse. His official charges were for production and distribution of child pornography.
The assaults happened at the Playful Painters Child Care where he was an employee since 2016 and worked as a night supervisor. According to WOWT, the daycare ran 24/7 and had a maximum capacity of 68 children.
Days after his arrest, the FBI posted a notice seeking other potential victims.
On July 15th, Miller appeared in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Cheryl R. Zwart and entered a guilty plea. He admitted to the sexual exploitation of five children between August 17, and October 15, 2019.
According to the Department of Justice release, Miller faces the possibility of up to 30 years’ imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on each count. Upon release, he would be subjected to supervision for no less than five years and potentially for the rest of his life. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
His sentencing has been scheduled for October 15, 2020 before Senior United States District Judge Richard G. Kopf.
The owner of Playful Painters Child Care, Amanda Gallagher, also owned another daycare, Manda’s Pandas Child Care Center. An employee there by the name of Dustin Hanson was arrested in November 2017 for distribution of child pornography after he was found to be in possession of a flash drive containing 528 images and videos of child pornography.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that he was sentenced to eight years in federal prison last year after pleading guilty to the two counts against him.
