After an investigation that spanned more than a year, officers with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested 27-year-old Bryan Montgomery Acton for possession and transmission of child pornography on September 30.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children July 8, 2019 concerning suspected images of child pornography.
A search warrant for Acton's electronic devices was obtained and executed. During the search, images were found on multiple devices belonging to him.
According to the Sheriff's Department statement, Acton admitted during an interview to not only possessing images that depicted child pornography, but also to sharing files with other suspects.
Acton is charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of transmission of child pornography.
The matter remains under investigation according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department.
