Shortly after midnight on Monday, June 15th, New York police and fire were dispatched to respond to what they believed was merely a brush fire along the Hutchinson River Parkway near Exit 6 in Eastchester.
Once the flames were extinguished, however, they discovered the remains of a nude male whose hands had been bound behind his back.
Investigators were unable to locate any vehicles or identifying materials in the area.
A medical examiner is conducting an autopsy in order to establish cause of death and the identity of the individual.
The investigation is ongoing.
This case may sound rather familiar to those living in New York as there was a similar case January 20th, 2020 in Queens. In that instance, the burned remains of a male were found inside of a structure that was being renovated. His hands as well, had been bound behind his back.
