On December 20th, Olathe Police responded to a residence for an armed disturbance call. Upon arrival, they located one woman in the home with a stab wound who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman, then unidentified, was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
On December 31st, as a result of their investigation, they arrested 38 year old Mollie Fitzgerald and charged her with second degree murder for the stabbing death of her mother.
She is being held in the Johnson County Jail on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned today at 1:30.
Her mother, 68 year old Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald was in the process of moving back to Kansas from Texas, where she had lived for decades with her husband according to family. Her funeral is planned for Friday in Gardner, Kansas.
