A man convicted on 19 counts of child molestation on October 8, 2020 was sentenced on January 29, 2021 to 228 years-to-life in prison the District Attorney of Tulare County, California announced last Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
38-year-old Victor Hugo Becerra of Duniba, California was sentenced for abusing four female victims between May 24, 2007 and April 2, 2013 all of whom were between the ages of 7 and 13 at the time of the assaults.
The charges resulting from those assaults included three counts of oral copulation with a minor under the age of t10, one count of digital penetration of a minor under the age of 10, fifteen counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14, and one count of dissuading a witness. He had contacted one of his victims on March 26, 2019 and attempted to get them to stop participating in the case.
The jury also convicted him on a special allegation of substantial sexual conduct due to there being multiple victims.
The case against Becerra was prosecuted by the Deputy District Attorney Chelsea Wayt of the Crimes Against Children Division and was investigated by Detective Moises Estrada of the Dinuba Police Department.
