Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Law enforcement served a search warrant at a home in Philadelphia in the 5200 block of Burton Street early last week after receiving a tip that the body of a woman that had been missing for eight years was buried in the basement.
When officers first arrived they were met with what was described as a hoarding situation that required several days of work to address so that the investigation could progress.
Neighbors stated that the family that lived in the home used to be seen coming and going regularly, but that they had not been seen for several days.
On Thursday, December 15, investigators found bone fragments for a human foot, reportedly under four feet of concrete in the home's basement.
On Monday, December 20, the remainder of the remains were located inside of a bag that had also been encased in concrete.
While investigators believe that they know the identity of the remains, no information has yet been released, pending confirmation by the medical examiner.
Additionally, the examiner will determine whether or not the woman was killed or died of natural causes.
