New Boston, Texas: On Wednesday, November 9, 29-year-old Taylor Parker was sentenced to death after the Bowie County jury deliberated for just over 90 minutes.
According to KTAL, none of Parker's family were in the courtroom for the verdict.
Parker's sentencing hearing had begun on October 12, following her conviction of capitol murder on October 3, 2022. The sentencing hearing ran for 25 days during which time 125 witnesses provided testimony according to KSLA.
On October 9, 2020, 21-year-old Reagan Hancock was stabbed over 100 times and her daughter was cut from her womb. The child, Braxlynn Sage did not survive.
At the time of the murder Reagan's 3-year-old daughter was home.
The last words that Parker heard from Judge John Tidwell were, "Remove her and take her to death row," after Reagan's family were allowed to deliver their impact statements.
KTBS reports that Parker will be transferred to the Mountain View Correctional Unit in Gatesville, Texas.
