Gainesville, Florida: A woman in Florida has been arrested on one count each of solicitation and distribution of child exploitation material after she told officers that she was a "people pleaser" and obtained the footage of a pre-pubescent child being raped for a friend that requested child sexual abuse material.
In a news release posted to Facebook, the Gainesville Police Department disclosed that they had received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning material that had been shared through Facebook Messenger.
Through the course of investigation, law enforcement determined that the video had been shared form a residence where 24-year-old Quincie Mae Grube had resided.
SWAT contacted her at her current residence on Thursday, June 23 and performed a search warrant.
During her conversation with officers, Grube is reported to have told officers that the account in question was in fact her personal Facebook account which had recently been banned from the platform.
She recalled receiving the video depicting the child abuse and later admitted to seeking the video out for a friend and then sending it to that individual. She claimed that her reasoning was that she is a "people pleaser" so when he requested abuse material, she wanted to find and send him something.
Grube told officers that she was not attracted to minors and denied ever solicitating or viewing child sexual abuse material outside of this instance.
She remains in the custody of the Alachua County Sheriff's Office as of this writing.
The Gainesville Police Department took the opportunity presented by this arrest to remind parents to be aware of their children's activities online and that they would encounter people online that would solicit them for sexually exploitive material.
"Please be vigilant and aware of any social networking platforms your children may access," their statement concluded.
