An anonymous letter dated October 5th was sent to the principal of Shadow Ridge High School located at the northern edge of Las Vegas which explained that a a student, now 17, was in an inappropriate relationship with a volunteer coach at the school.
Clark County School District Police are said to have contacted the student's parent who told authorities that their daughter had been involved with a previous matter of similar nature at another school. They stated they believed that their daughter may be attempting to recreate that relationship because she's believed it to be a "good relationship."
When speaking with the student, she initially denied having sex with the coach, but said other students may believe differently. She eventually admitted to the relationship though, and gave police access to her cell phone.
On the phone, police found graphic messages and even images that indicated that the relationship between the student and Youngblood dated back to February 2019, the previous school year. She told police that she was never given permission to go anywhere with Youngblood and that they were not aware of the relationship.
CCSD Police located Youngblood at a car dealership on Monday the 14th, and arrested him on a charges of kidnapping and sexual misconduct with a student.
Youngblood, who had been a volunteer coach with the school since May of 2018, was immediately terminated from his position when the school became aware of the arrest.
Bail was set at $25,000 on Tuesday morning when he appeared before a judge. He was released on bail, but with electronic monitoring and ordered to stay away from the school and the victim. He is due back in court today, October 22nd.
