Teacher and assistant coach arrested in online sting

Maryville, Tennesee: Earlier this month a high school teacher and assistant football coach at Heritage High School was arrested after getting caught by an online sting conducted by the Federal Burau of Investigation.

During that sting, 50-year-old John Morrow made it clear to the undercover agent that he believed he was in fact speaking to a 12-year-old girl through Kik.

According to the complaint seen by WATE Morrow is accused of sending pornographic material to the undercover agent, and requesting that explicit material be sent to him.

"Based on my training and experience," the complaint read, "the subject is aware of the age of the individual he has been conversing with and therefore knows it is illegal to engage in sexual conduct with a minor."

Morrow was arrested on December 2 and accused of having "knowingly transferred obscene material to a minor, attempted production of child pornography, and attempted enticement of a minor."

Blount County School confirmed that Morrow has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

WBIR reports that Morrow sent messages to the undercover agent indicting that he had previously engaged in sexual activities with students in the past, though no outlets seem to indicate that investigators are seeking other victims.
