Porteau, Oklahoma: 54-year-old Bob Lee Allen has been sentenced to two years in jail and 10 years in prison after accepting a plea deal and pleading no contest to the charges against him.
Allen was arrested last October after performing a castration on a man that met Allen and his assistant, Thomas Evans Gates III through a website for those interested in "mods and kinks" of "all kinds."
An investigation into Allen and Gates was launched after the victim ended up requiring medical care after he began hemorrhaging.
Allen's trial had been scheduled for this week, but he agreed to the plea deal with prosecutors on August 31. He told the judge that he had thought the deal was in his best interest because "a jury might convict me."
He pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit unlicensed surgery, practicing medicine without a license and attempted distribution of a psychedelic mushroom, and two misdemeanor charges related to failure to bury a dead human member and possession of drugs without a prescription.
As a part of the plea deal the felony charge of maiming and two misdemeanor possession charges were dismissed.
Gates pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor charges in August as a part of a plea deal that would see him testifying against Allen. According to McAlester News, Gates was given a concurrent sentence of 334-days for the charges, and was released last week.
