Officers with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina responded to a breaking and entering call at the Restoration Church of Forest City on February 20, 2021 at an undisclosed time.
Upon arrival, officers found the front door of the building had been kicked in and there was "severe damage" done to the interior of the church including satanic drawings, burned curtains, broken windows, and other damage not specified.
Investigators and Forensics teams responded to and processed the scene.
As a result of their investigation, they have charged Steven Clale Henderson with breaking or entering a place of religious worship, burning of churches and certain other religious buildings, and injuring houses, churches, fences and walls, in excess of $5,000.
All three charges are felonies.
Officers are seeking the public's help in locating Henderson. They are asking that anyone with information contact Detective Ryan Bailey at (828) 286-2911 or (828) 286-TIPS (8477).
Due to court record searches being conducted in person at a terminal in the clerk of courts' offices within North Carolina, previous charges against Henderson could not be determined.
