Encinitas, California: An alert mother spoiled a man's attempt to walk away with her 5-year-old daughter on Sunday, May 1, 2022 according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The department issued a release alerting the public to the attempted abduction describing the suspect as a white male in his mid 30s, 5'5" weighing approximately 160 pounds with a slim build. The man had short or possibly buzz cut blonde hair and was wearing only grey sweatpants, no shoes or shirt.
The incident took place at Moonlight Beach in the 400 block of W B Street at about 4:00 pm.
According to police, the man grasped the hand of the girl and began to walk away with her. The mother saw this, took the girl's other hand and yelled at the man. He released his hold on the girl's hand and fled.
The child was not hurt.
