Akron, Ohio: Tuesday, June 7, 2022 63-year-old Eddie Dukes Jr. was sentenced to life in prison after a jury convicted him last week of two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition.
The girl, identified only as a family member under the age of 13, was abused in June 2021 while she was staying at a family member's home.
The girl, accompanied by Avery, Summit County Prosecutor's assistance dog, testified at the trial.
Dukes will be eligible for parole after 25 years in prison. Should he be released, Judge Christine Croce designated him as a Tier 3 sex offender, requiring that he register his address with the sheriff's department every 90 days.
