Las Vegas, Nevada: On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 58-year-old Eric Holland plead guilty to a charge of second-degree murder. Holland is scheduled to be sentenced on September 1, 2022 at 9:00 am.
In December 23, 2021, Holland fled from an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department when they attempted to stop him for a traffic violation.
Officers eventually caught up to him after he had changed vehicles and had to use tasers to take Holland into custody.
During their investigation they determined that both vehicles he had been driving that day had previously been reported as stolen and in one of the vehicles, officers located a cooler containing a severed head.
The victim was later identified as 65-year-old Richard Miller who had been reported missing in November, 2021.
Court documents reveal that investigators located surveillance footage from a home improvement store that showed Holland purchasing a reciprocating saw and trash bags at about the time Richard went missing.
