Jordanville, New York: 22-year-old Michael J. Andreev Jr. has been charged with murder after his father and sister were found murdered on Sunday night.
The New York State Police issued a statement which has since been updated several times concerning the incident.
According to their statement officers arrived at the Jordanville residence shortly after 7:00 pm and found 67-year-old Michael J. Andreev Sr. and his daughter, 12-year-old Sofia Trusova deceased from apparent stab wounds.
Also located at the residence was Andreev Jr. who was found in the front yard with a "laceration to his neck." He was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for surgery and treatment.
After his discharge from the hospital Andreev Jr was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree murder and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held in the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail.
Officers were called to the residence by a neighbor after a 9-year-old younger brother sought help.
"The younger brother sees and hears the stabbing [of Andreev Sr.] occur," Trooper Jack Keller stated during an interview with WKTV. "He immediately runs out of the residence, tries to look for help. Goes back in the residence because he knowns his 12-year-old sister is in the house. Finds her, also with stab wounds, runs back out of the house and at this point, contacts one of the neighbors who calls 911 immediately to report the stabbing."
Andreev Sr. had two other adult sons that were living outside of the residence.
According to a GoFundMe, 20-year-old Stefan was attending the American University in Bulgaria and 18-year-old Christian was in his fifth week of basic training at Lackland Air Force Base at the time of the murders. Both are making their way home in order to "honor their family, sort through all of the broken pieces and to care for their 9 year old brother."
Sofia's mother was in Russia at the time of the stabbings and is making her way back to the United States.
