Atlanta, Georgia: Officers with the Atlanta Police Department arrested a man in his 50s for molestations at a Seventh Day Adventist summer camp said to have happened between at least May, June, and July 2016-2018.
Officers have not disclosed the identity of the man, citing the ongoing investigation, and are asking anyone that believes they may have additional information to contact the APD Special Victims Unit at (404) 546-7896.
The investigation into the West End Family Life and Community Center summer camp began in February after a woman is said to have brought her granddaughter to the APD headquarters to report molestation dating back to 2018.
The girl, not yet 10 years old, told officers that that she didn't speak up sooner because "she didn't feel comfortable saying anything."
Investigators have not specified how many victims are involved in the case.
Lt Felicia Claxon, commander of the Special Victim's Unit called the case "heartbreaking" and acknowledged the likelihood of additional victims saying, "We're talking about a series of several years."
