
Omaha, Nebraska: On Friday, December 9, 2022, the Omaha Police Department announced that they had arrested and charged four teenagers for an October assault.
On October 31, 2022, at about 4:00 pm, officers had responded to a residential area for a report of a person down.
62-year-old Daniel Price was found unresponsive, suffering with a head wound and was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries on November 12, 2022 at 10:05 pm.
Following Price's death, the investigation which had initially been classified as an assault was upgraded to a homicide investigation.
Four teenagers are now in custody at the Douglas County Youth Center facing charges related to Price's death. Two of the teens are being charged as adults and two will be charged as juveniles.
Joshua Hammond, 15, has been charged with second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He is being held without bail following his arrest on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He is being charged as an adult.
Anterio Parker, 16, has been charged with being an accessory to murder as well as probation violation. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail and is also being charged as an adult.
Two 13-year-old girls were arrested and charged with accessory to murder and tampering with evidence. Their names were not released as they are being charged as juveniles.
KETV reports that prosecutors have alleged that the four teenagers encountered Price after a vehicle they had reportedly stolen broke down in front of his home. Price is believed to have attempted to help the teens before they "turned on him."
