54-year-old former third grade teacher at Northline Elementary School, Winfredo "Wilbert" Sequeiros has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault and two counts of indecency with a child. He was arrested yesterday and remains in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bond.
Three students have come forward reporting that Sqeueiros sexually assaulted them. According to Fox 26, police were first notified of his conduct in February of 2019. Charges were not filed against him until October 16.
One child reported that he had been stripped, placed on a table, and sexually assaulted under the threat that he would not be allowed to play on the soccer team if he either refused or told anyone of the assault.
Another reported that he had been touched inappropriately over his clothing and that Sqeueiros had shown him an image of a male's privates. He claimed that the teacher had also offered him food and Pokémon cards.
The third victim, a girl, reported that while she was cleaning the classroom in February 2017, she had discovered a bottle of beer under Sqeueiros' desk which angered him.
She reported that she had been placed onto a chair and Sqeueiros then stood on both of her feet while he touched her through her clothing. KHOU reports that court documents state that he had threatened to hurt the girl if she told anyone. At the time of her interview with investigators, she believed that she was the only victim.
Investigators stated that the crimes took place during the 2016-2017 school year and have not ruled out the possibility that there could be other victims. They are asking that anyone with information contact the Houston ISD Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477)
